How timelines relate

Main, detail, branch or independent: what each timeline shares with the others.

  1. Open the timeline's dialog with Edit.
  2. Under What it is, choose what it is: A principal timeline, A detail of another: the same reality, up close, A branch of another: it inherits its past and goes its own way or An independent reality.
  3. For a detail or a branch, choose under Of which timeline which timeline it comes from.
A detail

Say, "The harbor case" inside "The detective's story". What happens in one happens in the other.

A branch

It starts at the moment you type under When it splits off. From there each lives its own life: the detective can die in one branch and marry in another without Exaratio seeing a contradiction. A branch inherits what its parent had up to the fork; if you write something of its own about the same thing in the branch, the inherited part is cut there.

Independent

It shares nothing with the others.
