Working with two screens

Move the entities, the map or the chronology to another window and write in the main one with the text at full width. · 2 min read

If you work with two screens, make the most of them. Exaratio's context views (Entities, Map and Chronology) can move out to a window of their own. That window goes on the second screen, and the main one keeps the text at full width.

Move the views to another window

  1. Open the view you want to have alongside: Entities, Map or Chronology.
  2. Click Move out to another window in the panel's header, or choose Views in a separate window from the View menu.
  3. Drag the new window to your second screen and resize it as you like.

Now you write on one screen while the other shows a character's sheet, the map of your world or the story's timeline.

The three views travel together. While the separate window is open, the Map and Chronology buttons on the left rail show them there, and you keep writing where you were.

If you choose Views in a separate window with no view open, Exaratio moves out the Entities view.

Back to a single window

Close the separate window, or click Back to the main window. The views go back to their place, next to the text.
