Recover what you didn't save

If the computer shuts down or Exaratio closes without saving, it offers what you had when you come back.

  1. Open the work again.
  2. Click Recover changes (or Recover the session) when it's offered.
  3. Check what was recovered and save.
Why it's possible

While you write, Exaratio keeps a separate copy of what you've written every few seconds.

The two dialogs
  • Recover the previous session, before opening it, if there were changes to the work: chapters, cards, the timeline. With Recover the session the work opens with all of it as unsaved changes.
  • Project recovery, if there was text left from the chapter you were writing. With Recover changes you carry on where you were.
If you'd rather look later

With Not now nothing is lost: it opens what was saved and offers it again next time. Only Discard, which asks you to confirm, deletes it for good.

Closing when it can't save

If you close with changes, Exaratio asks: Save and close or Close without saving. If it can't save right then, it offers Close and keep what was written to recover it when you come back: what you wrote is kept aside and offered when you come back.
