- Put the cursor where the image goes.
- Insert → Image: the image's card opens.
- Choose one from the library, or click + to bring one from your computer, and click Insert.
The card: caption, position and size
- Description: what the image shows, for anyone who can't see it.
- Caption: the text underneath, in the book.
- Where it goes: whether it takes its own place in the text or goes behind or in front of it, whether text wraps around it, and its Alignment.
- Size: the Width, as a percentage of the column, and the rotation.
On the page, drag its corners to resize it. Double-click it to open the card again.
Paste it from another program
Copy the image and paste it with Ctrl+V⌘V: it goes into the library and its card opens.
The ribbon tab
When you select an image the Image tab appears, with Placement, width, Rotation, border and shadow, Replace and Remove. Removing it takes it out of the text but keeps it in the library.
Which images it accepts
PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, WebP, TIFF, ICO and SVG, up to 25 MB and 16,384 pixels a side. TIFF, ICO and SVG are saved as PNG, so they look the same in every book format.
