Paragraph styles and your palette

Body, heading, subtitle, section or epigraph: each style brings its font, and you decide it.

  1. Put the cursor in the paragraph.
  2. In Home → Styles, choose Text, Title, Subtitle, Section or Epigraph.

Hovering over each one shows how it would look before you choose it.

A style is a palette

The paragraph takes the style's font, size, color, bold, italics and line spacing, and from then on they're its own: you can change any of them later, in that paragraph only.

Your paragraph-type palette

You decide what each style sets, for all your works:

  1. Tools → Preferences, Paragraph types tab.
  2. For each style, choose its Font, Size (pt), Color, whether it's Bold or Italic, and its Line spacing. Same as body text uses the font of the Text style.
  3. Click Save.

Changing the palette doesn't touch what you've written: it applies to the styles you pick from then on. Restore the default style brings back Exaratio's defaults.

A set-off quote

Block quote (Ctrl+Shift+B⌘⇧B) sets the paragraph off from the text, like a quote.
