Protect your account: two-step verification

Turn on two-step verification so nobody can get into your account, even if they know your password. · 2 min read

With two-step verification, your password or your Google, Microsoft, Apple or GitHub account isn't enough to sign in to your exaratio.com account: you also need a code that your phone changes every 30 seconds.

Turn it on

  1. In My Library, under Account security, click Turn on.
  2. Install an authenticator app on your phone: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or your password manager.
  3. Scan the QR code with that app. If you can't use the camera, type the key shown below it.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code the app shows and click Turn on two-step verification.
  5. Save your recovery codes. There are 10, and each one works once. Download them and keep them somewhere safe: you won't see them again.

You get an email every time you turn two-step verification on or off.

Sign in with two-step verification

After your password, Exaratio asks for the 6-digit code from your app. If you don't have your phone with you, click Don't have your phone handy? and enter one of your recovery codes.

If you lost your phone

Sign in with a recovery code. Then, in Account security, turn off two-step verification and turn it on again with your new phone. If you're running low on codes, create new ones from the same page.

Your password

  • To change it, use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page: you get a link by email that works once and expires in 30 minutes. When you change it, you're signed out everywhere.
  • It must be at least 8 characters long, and it's renewed once a year.
  • After 5 failed attempts, the account waits 15 minutes before letting you try again.

Delete your account

Write to us at info@exaratio.com from your account's email address. We delete your data within 30 days. Your works aren't deleted: they're on your computer.
