Your licenses and your computers
Where to see your licenses, how to activate Exaratio on a computer and how to move it to another one. · 3 min read
Your licenses
Go to exaratio.com and open My Library. Each license shows:
- Installations: how many computers use it and how many it allows, for example "1 / 3".
- Right of use: until when you can use it, or "no end date" if it's perpetual.
- Updates until: the date until which you get new versions.
- Download your license title (.xrtl): your license file. You can download it as many times as you like.
Activate Exaratio on a computer
- Double-click your
.xrtltitle, or in Exaratio choose Help → Your license → Import a title. - Click Activate on this computer. Your browser opens at exaratio.com.
- Sign in with your account and click Activate. Exaratio is activated and you're taken back to it automatically.
More in Install Exaratio and activate your license.
Move your license to another computer
- If you still have the old computer: on it, choose Help → Your license → Release this computer and click again to confirm. Whatever you have open is saved, and from then on Exaratio only reads on that computer. Then activate the new one.
- If you no longer have it, because it broke or you sold it: in My Library, open Your computers on your license's card and click Release next to that computer.
If you reinstall Windows or activate the same computer again, Exaratio recognizes it and doesn't take up another seat.
If you're offline
You can write without the internet. If a computer goes more than 30 days without being validated, Exaratio opens as a reader and its seat is freed: your works are still there and you can export them (Your work is yours: what happens to your works if…). When you're back online, activate it again.
Your stars
When exaratio.com wants to thank you for something —testing the beta, a contest, an award—, it awards you a star. You see it on your license title: choose Help → Your license, and under the motto are the stars you've received, side by side, from oldest to newest. Hover over one, or reach it with Tab, and a tooltip tells you what it thanks you for and the date you received it. A new star appears the next time you open your license title while online.
To show them off, click Save an image of your stars: it saves a PNG image with only your stars. If you check With my name, it also includes your name. It never includes your key, your email or your registry number.
You can also see them on exaratio.com, under My Library › Your stars.
