Update Exaratio

When there's a new version, how to download it from Exaratio or install it, and what happens to your works. · 2 min read

Find out about a new version

Exaratio tells you when you choose Help → Check for updates: it tells you which version is out and what it brings. If you check Check for updates automatically in Preferences, it checks on its own when it opens, at most once a day. Checking doesn't download anything: that's up to you.

If your licence includes the beta, it also tells you about beta versions.

Also, when a version your licence includes comes out, you get an email: "Exaratio … is available." If you don't want it, turn it off in My Library → Communications.

What each version brings is at exaratio.com/Novedades.

Download it from Exaratio

If your licence covers the new version, the notice offers you Update on close:

  1. Exaratio downloads it and checks that it is exactly the one exaratio.com published.
  2. It lets you know when it's ready.
  3. It is applied when you close Exaratio. You don't need to reinstall.

If anything about the download doesn't match, it is discarded and Exaratio stays as it was.

Install it from My Library

If the notice offers you Open My Library, or if you prefer the installer:

  1. On exaratio.com, open My Library → Downloads.
  2. Download the installer for the new version. The one for your system appears first.
  3. Run it: it installs over the version you have.

Either way, your works stay where you saved them: updating doesn't touch them.

Which version you have

Choose Help → About Exaratio.
