Bring a collaborator's copy together

Choose which of their changes go into your work; nothing applies unless you tick it.

  1. Collaborate → Merge a copy and choose the copy they returned.
  2. Tick the changes you want: Everything that does not clash, All, None, or one by one.
  3. Click the button to bring them in.

They go in under the name of whoever wrote them. If anything doesn't convince you, Ctrl+Z⌘Z undoes the whole merge.

Each change

It says what it does (Adds, Removes, Changes, New document, New entity…) and how many words it adds or removes. See the change shows Before, In their copy and In your work.

What clashes with yours

A change marked Clashes with yours touches something you also changed. If you tick it, that stretch gets their version instead of yours.

What's set aside

Anything touching parts of the work that person couldn't change shows Set aside: it can't be merged, and it's listed so you know.

The log

At the top you see whether it's the return of a commission, its deadline, whether it was delivered with a seal and when, and whether it came in late.
