What your assistant can do, and when it asks you
Your assistant can read, create and organize almost everything in your work; you decide what you allow, and you can undo it. · 2 min read
Once connected to Exaratio (Connect your AI assistant to Exaratio), your assistant works with your work just as you would.
What it can do
- Read: chapters, sheets, relationships, the chronology, the statistics; search the whole work.
- Import a book and create its sheets in the same conversation (Import a book with your AI assistant).
- Build your world: create and fill in characters, places and objects, with their aliases, properties, relationships, categories and portraits (Characters, places, objects and organizations).
- Time: create timelines and calendars, date scenes and record who knows what (Dating scenes: time inside the text, Who knows what, and since when).
- Review: look for inconsistencies in continuity, chronology or style (Ask for a review: continuity, chronology and style), write your world's own rules and go over the continuity warnings with you (Continuity warnings and how to resolve them).
- Write and organize: create chapters, move them, tidy them up (their title on the page, the prose indented) and change their text, if you ask it to.
- Export your book and set up its options.
Ask in your own words: “create sheets for all the characters in chapter 3”, “date the scenes in Book II”, “what does Elin know at the end of chapter 4?”.
When it asks you
Your assistant asks for your permission depending on how you've set it up: Claude Desktop, for example, asks you before using each tool, and you choose whether to allow it once or always.
On top of that, to delete or replace something, Exaratio requires it to confirm that specific operation, and lets it do a dry run first to see what would change without touching anything. You can ask it: “show me first what you'd do”.
You see everything
If you have the work open, its changes appear right away and the status bar tells you who did what, for example “Claude created an entity”. What it does is saved in the work on the spot, and can be undone just like your own changes (Review and undo what your assistant did).
