Import a book with your assistant
It gives you back a populated work: the chapters and, in the same conversation, every card.

- Connect your assistant, if you haven't (Connect your AI assistant).
- Ask it: "Import my book The Cartographer.epub, in Documents, into the open work, and create its characters, places and objects".
There's no need to ask for each step: it knows you expect the finished work in one go.
What it does
- Imports the book split into chapters, and tidies each one (Bring in a book you've already written).
- Reads Exaratio's report: proper names, repeated expressions ("the captain") and dates.
- Decides, by reading, what each name is: a character (including an animal with a role), a place, an object or an organization.
- Creates every card at once, with its type, a short description, its aliases and the main relationships.
- Checks where each one appears, and warns you if a name is ambiguous.
What it asks you
Only what it can't decide by reading: whether two characters share a name, or whether "the Director" is always the same person.
What else you can ask
- Dates: "Find the book's dates and build a timeline with the scenes".
- Portraits: link each image in the book to its character or place.
- The book's details: title, author, translator.
- A saga in one file: a new work with one book per part.
- More characters: also go through those who appear only a few times.
Undo it
Cards are created together and undone together: "undo the last thing you did".
